Excerpt of Workers Center Email
<Hi folks:
Just a reminder of two things from the Tompkins County Workers'
Center....
1) Peace and Justice Gift Shop Open for Business
2) Tompkins County Religious Task Force for a Living Wage's Campaign
for a Living Wage--If Autumn Leaves and Buffalo Street Books Can Do It,
Why Can't Borders and Barnes and Noble?!?
1) Our Peace and Justice Gift Shop is open for its' 7th year of
operation. We're open all day, everyday (afternoons being best) and are
located above Autumn Leaves Used Books on The Commons in Ithaca.
Available, among other things are: Syracuse Cultural Workers Peace
Calendar 2010; Woman's Artist Datebook 2010; Cat Lovers Against the
Bomb Calendar 2010 (Nebraskans for Peace); bumper stickers, mugs;
totebags flags; CD's; notecards; T-shirts; stickers; books, including
the new book out from the Poverty Initiative, A New and Unsettling
Force: Reigniting Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's Poor People's
Campaign; etc.
Autumn Leaves Used Books and Buffalo Street Books, two locally owned
book stores, already pay a Living Wage, as do many other Tompkins
County businesses, non profits, government agencies and houses of
worship.
The Workers' Center is distributing postcards on behalf of the
Religious Task Force that ask the management of Borders and Barnes and
Noble to do the right thing and pay their employees a Living Wage. If
you expect to do some shopping at either of these bookstores, please
consider picking up a postcard at the Workers' Center. (We will also
mail them to you if you'd like, please contact 607-269-0409 or email
[email protected]).>

Subject: [SustainableTompkins] No Frack T-shirts?
Does anyone know where I can get a No-Frack T-shirt before Christmas?
(Bit late with my Christmas shopping!).
Thanks
Liz
