--WHATS NEW FOR 2010-- Sapsquatch is a is a small-scale sugarbush with about 500 taps. We produce a variety of maple products and offer educational events on the farm and at local schools. We accept check, money order, and credit card through PayPal. -- 2010 EVENTS -- SUGARBUSH TOURS Tours of the sugarbush including the history, lore, and process of sugaring will be offered EVERY SATURDAY at 1:00 pm from February 27 thru April 3. Learn about the progression of sugaring from the time of the Native Americans to present. Try your hand at tapping. Taste sap and syrup. Donations accepted. SUGAR MOON PARTY 2.27.09 – 11 am to ?? Join us for stories, music, food, and fun as we gather 'round the boiler and welcome this years sugar moon. Kids activities during the day and tours at 1:00 and 3:00pm. Donate and support your local sugaring folk. Enjoy sledding, hiking, and a moonlight sugarbush tour. Donations accepted. NYS MAPLE WEEKEND 3.20 & 3.21 – 10am to 5pm In cooperation with the NYS Maple Producers Association, visit the Sapsquatch sugarbush and enjoy a pancake breakfast, syrup samples, tapping demonstrations, live music, tours, and more! -- PROGRAMS -- WANT TO VOLUNTEER? Contact [email protected] to get on the volunteer email list. 2010 APPRENTICESHIP We are excited to offer this program including instruction in permaculture and sugarbush management through hands-on, experiential learning. Skills learnt include: - GPS mapping and data collection - Permaculture principles and design process - Chainsaw safety and use - Sugarbush management including laying lines, boiling, and finishing sap - Teaching children and adults about sugaring history and lore Program hours are flexible and run from February 20 thru April 3. SUGARING IN THE SCHOOLS We will again be offering programs for local school groups, both in the classroom and during enrichment programs.
