If you are interested in locally produced biomass pellets, there are two upcoming meetings this week.
This was in the Ithaca Journal<http://www.theithacajournal.com/article/20100110/NEWS01/1100368/Danby+meetings+examine+pelletizing+mill>today. The Danby Land Bank Cooperative and Energy Independent Caroline are sponsoring two meetings: 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the Danby Town Hall, and 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Caroline Town Hall. The purpose is to let the community know how plans for a local pelletizing mill are evolving into a company called Community Biomass Energy. A location has been found on Boiceville Road near Route 79, thanks to new partners: Tony Nekut, Ben Boynton and Ken White. The group's mission statement is "to responsibly transform locally produced biomass into sustainable energy products for the community." They are interested in talking to local stakeholders and exploring avenues of local ownership and involvement. -- Stephen C. Nicholson 220 Yaple Rd.
