LEARN ABOUT STARTING A CSA FARM

Community Supported Agriculture is a farm marketing model that works well for both farmers and customers. Customers pay up front for a “share” in the season’s harvest, then pick up food as it becomes seasonal. Come to this workshop to learn how to set up and run your own CSA farm. Instructors will be Monika Roth, Farm Marketing specialist from CCE-Tompkins, and Lisa Bloodnick, a seasoned CSA farmer in Apalachin (Tioga County). Topics will include:·Nuts and bolts of organizing all those customers and shares, Growing crops for the CSA audience, Marketing your CSA­community receptivity, where to find customers, CSA partnerships between farms, Various ways to structure a CSA, and Farm profitability.
