Subject: [flprogressives] Invite to Breakfast Tomorrow, Holiday Inn,
Elmira, 7:00 am,
IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED
WHEN & WHERE:
The Citizens for Healthy Communities requests your presence tomorrow,
Friday, 3/19 at 7am in at the Holiday Inn Riverview at 760 East
Water Street in Elmira.
WHY:
The Chemung County Chamber of Commerce is hosting 300
businessleaders at an Economic Forum/Breakfast focused on Natural Gas
Drilling.
The scheduled speakers at the Forum are primarily representatives
ofthe gas industry.
WHAT:
We invite you to comehave breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel.
Bring a simple sign if you'd like. We will have a hand-out for
those attending the Forum with info & an invitation to "Hydrofracking:
Who Pays the Costs?" at 9:30 am on Saturday, April 3at the Heights
Theater in Elmira Heights
INTENT:
Our object is not to protest but rather to have a presenc
ewhich communicates that there's "more to the story" about fracking.
We want the chamber members and thepress to see that there are
many concernedabout this issue and there's great
economic &environmental costs thatthe gas industry won't share.
We've heard that some people will try to gain access to
thebreakfast itself to hear what's said and to ask tough questions.
Therest of us can have breakfast, talk to the press, network
withone another, wear our signs, etc.
Can you get 10 from your group to join us?
We'd love to get at least100 people there. Please let us know if
you will join us - RSVP- [email protected]
Spread the word - invite a friend to come have breakfast withyou! Many
thanks!
