I too can strongly recommend this piece. Fred Magdoff is an agricultural scientist and a long time student of the power relations, political and economic, in our society. Foster is a political economist who has dedicated his writing to a red-green convergence for at least two decades. Their style of writing is very accessible. They target common flaws in environmental thinking and action and trace them back to misunderstandings about the dynamics of power, often ones that the powerful have deliberately created in our minds.
