Saturday Celebration!

WHAT:     Taking a step toward celebrating community - this year's EARTH DAY 
will be a big party!  All ages invited - Co-hosted by the Center for 
Environmental Sustainability (CES) and the Southside Community Center

WHERE:   Southside Community Center (305 South Plain Street)

WHY:        time to pause and reflect - share concerns and visions, collaborate 
for action - break bread together                                        - in 
honor of the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day

WHEN:    SATURDAY, APRIL 24th

                   11:00 a.m.     make masks and costumes for the Parade! 
decorate your bike!
                                           Drum the Heartbeat of the Earth  - 
take your turn with the Medicine Drum (all afternoon)
                   11:30 a.m.    gather for the Parade - COSTUMES WELCOME!
                   12:00 noon  Ceremony uniting all people of our one Earth 
                                           - Parade (down Cleveland Avenue, 
around the block and back to S'Side)
                   12:30  p.m.    Welcome and Invocation
                                            POTLUCK FEAST:  Breaking Bread 
Together
                                            - bring your own tastes of the 
Earth to share
                    1:30 p.m.       Conversation Circle:  sharing our only 
planet home: local concerns, global questions
                    3:30 p.m.       Closing prayer and drumming with Fe Nunn & 
Friends
