Michael's also one of the Sustainable Tompkins list admins, and our usual contact with mutualaid.
For some reason, ST went down for a while (bouncing messages for a few days) but is mostly still functional, except that spam filtering is much less effective.
I'm not sure what happened to Finger Lakes Permaculture, except that it seems to have been much more dire.
I wish I had my own mailing list setup running to avoid the privacy concerns you mention, but haven't had time, and worry that I'd end up in the same difficult place.
