I like that too, but in which way is this more simple?
It's only simpler to implement :) (yet it still conveys a valuable
information to the user)
And as we are already on the web, why not link to the English version
directly, as I proposed? ;-)
For the web version it could make much more sense indeed, as there is no
codepage-related drama, but I would prefer to keep AMB's language
universal (ie. common between the web and DOS environments). Not sure
how this could be done... maybe some "external AMB file" links in the
AMB language that would make the reader load a new file... It's a little
bit ugly, but perhaps it could work.
Another approach would be a different "web-based AMB" implementation
that would be specialized only for the single task of displaying the
SvarDOS help online, but that's a some major bit of work.
Another subject is whether or not it makes sense to install all help
languages to the user. For now there are only 2 languages and the help
has little content, but in the future it might grow. For an idea of
scale: the FreeDOS help is about 1M big for each language. And there are
4 languages available. At this point it would make sense to distribute
the helps separately (help-en, help-fr, help-pl...) not to waste user's
disk space with files he won't understand anyway.

Sounds very good! (and the separate "help on help" page as well). At
least until there's a better way to address the subject.

What if a second translator for one page comes in?
Keep both names? The second only? The first only? Depends on how much
the second translator did?

Well, in practice I don't think there will be that many contributors for
a single language... Anyway, that's just an idea. The purpose would be
to show who done what, and possibly direct people to the right person to
report some language-specific typos or whatever.
