I have no clear answer to this question, and I guess it can be browser 
dependent.
But perhaps it would be easier to leave the JS as is (unzipped) but ask 
the server to deliver it gzipped to users agents accepting this 
encoding? Ie. probably more than 90% of the current browser market...
