Hi all,

I'd like to let you know that version 0.4 of the shp2svg converter
(ESRI shapefile to SVG) is available at
http://www.carto.net/papers/svg/utils/shp2svg/

The new feature is a --scale flag which lets you introduce a map
scale. Also there is now support for input (--inputunits) and output
units (--outputunits). (currently only meter, centimeter, dm, and mm
supported). This feature is useful for importing the svgs into Adobe
Illustrator or other page oriented svg authoring tools, since they
may have problems when importing huge coordinate ranges.

Another addition is that the step 1 of the conversion process is now
eliminated. The shp2pgsql conversion is now embedded in the
ogis2svg.pl.

As usual the script is available in perl source code and a windows
binary. Runs in Linux, MacOSX and Linux.

If you find any errors or problems, please let me know and I'll try
to fix them.

Andreas
