Hello Barend,

thanks for the links. I've already downloaded GIS data for Romania 
from maproom and I'm quite impressed.

One more question, since I'm new with this:
any recommendation for a tool to convert GIS to SVG (I've found quite
a bunch but instead of testing them all I'd like to know user's 
experience with this).
