SVG.Open happened already 4 times. Just because it failed one time doesn't mean that will fail in the future. In fact we had strong support by people submitting papers and we have more and more SVG implementations every year. There are many things one can do to help make SVG a success. The logo is one thing, making the viewer plugin download available is another option. And there are a whole lot more options to support SVG. Writing software or convincing companies to support SVG f.e. is very useful.
