> Why do we actually need an svg logo and who will it benefit?

well - other technologies use logos. Ever seen the "Made with
Macromedia Director/Flash" logos? I don't see anything wrong with a
SVG logo. It certainly won't change a whole lot, but it will make
people more aware of SVG.

SVG.Open happened already 4 times. Just because it failed one time
doesn't mean that will fail in the future. In fact we had strong
support by people submitting papers and we have more and more SVG
implementations every year. So I am pretty confident that SVG.Open
2007 will be a success if properly organized and organized in time.

this is certainly useful and thanks for doing so. There are many
things one can do to help make SVG a success. The logo is one thing,
making the viewer plugin download available is another option. And
there are a whole lot more options to support SVG. Writing software
or convincing companies to support SVG f.e. is very useful.
