I use this simple form I made up: http://files.myopera.com/orinoco/tools/roundpath.html copy the paths you want to round into the text area, click round, then copy the results back into the file. Rounding from the standard 5 to 1 decimal place reduces inkscape files by around a quarter without altering the image quality.
