hello,

i did upgrade to IE8 for compatibilty tests and it seems getURL()
doesn't work as expected. has anyone observed this already?

until MSIE7 i used a combined function checking for getURL or
xmlHttpRequest availabilty like in this file:

http://www.carto.net/temp/geturlmsie8/test1.svg

it was important to ask for getURL before xmlHttpRequest because MSIE7
already knew about xmlHttpRequest. anyhow this doesn't work anymore.
i get a stack-memory error message where existance of window.getURL is
checked.

the error takes place all the time EXCEPT IF i load the file in a
blank tab. reloading it or loading a new file with similar functions
in the open tab leads to the stack-memory error message as if getURL
has been "consumed" perennially in the tab...

thanks for hints to overcome this!

greetings from Tyrol,
andré
