While people rave about it, I found the voice acting in Baldur's Gate
annoying ("with ease" got on my nerves particularly). Of course I only
played it for 30 minutes. The speech for "Alone in the Dark" had overacting
that would make William Shatner claw out his eyes.
Also a Lucasfilm games, I loved the acting in "Day of the Tenticle". Of
course "Castle Wolfenstein" (and the hack job for the Apple "Castle
Smurfenstein"). Loved all of those (more for mood than "voice acting").

PS - Stepping outside the usual boundaries of PC games, and also more for
mood than acting...
Sinistar (coin-op): I still mumble "beware... I live" every now and then in
the morning
Berzerk (coin-op): I would love to have a car alarm that said "Intruder
Alert". Maybe hack the waveform in a "Viper"?
Quadrun (Atari 2600): Well, while technically the first Atari 2600 game with
speech, there wasn't much room left for a game...
