Hey, Swfdec itself is pretty much backend-agnostic and requires a "glue" library that integrates it into a backend. We developers use GTK, so the swfdec-gtk backend is the reference. However, source code for swfdec-directfb does exist in our git repository and should still be pretty much functional (I didn't test it for a while).
