Have a read of FAQ#1 if you are using 100% w/h embedding. There is CSS definitions required for FF to render the Flash content properly.

Unlike version 1.5 which placed the div/object inside a designated div, version 2.x replaces the div entirely, which IIRC means any styles and other things get wiped out, which might affect things in FF diffrently than in IE. If you are requiring a different id due to some sort of styling, then you can create a wrapper div that would look like: <div id="frontGallery"> <div id="mainGal"> blah blah alt content </div> </div> Try it and see if that helps.
