You can try using swf version 7(-T7 in your arguments) rather than 10.

I believe the text rendering in version 8+ makes use of different font
optimizations, that is not always ideal.  I had similar issues in the past
where using T7 fixed the issue.

If you are in a scenario where your Swf output needs to be version 8+ (AS3
compliant) you can subsequently run the v7 output through swfcombine to get
a v8+ version without messing with the fonts.
