Hi all, I am very happy to announce the availability of IkeWiki 2.0rc4. As we are heading towards a first stable release, this version is focussed primarily on reliability and usability and includes many many bugfixes and enhancements in the user interface. The user interface should now (again) be fully functional.
Major changes include: - many user interface fixes and enhancements; user feedback when "things take longer" or entered data is invalid; CSS fixes that make the UI look nicer - reimplemented caching based on OpenSymphony OSCache; caching much more aggressively on both the data and the JSP level, so performance benefits should be visible in many situations. - switched to Freemarker Templates for many components, as a first step towards cleaner MVC separation. Component templates are much cleaner now and should load faster. In future versions (after 2.0) we will probably switch to some MVC framework like JBoss Seam or similar. - Dojo and TinyMCE updates All in all, this is in my opinion the most stable and usable IkeWiki release so far. Please test it thoroughly if you have the time. Binary (WAR) and source distributions have already been uploaded to Sourceforge. I am successively upgrading IkeWiki homepage, demo installation, VMWare images, and other sites, as time permits.
