I feel your pain. :-) The only alternative would be for Apple to provide the text color information to the JDK. Good luck with that. Even if they did, based on my experience, I predict that there would still be bugs with each new major release. They would be Apple bugs rather than JDK bugs, but that is a small consolation. Alan
