Hi folks, I had an idea to create a wireless map of the Zurich area (why Zurich? Because I live here :) similar to what these guys put together for Toronto:
http://www.nakedwireless.ca/ I haven't put too much thought into it, but it sounds like a fun project for around 10-20 people working together, something to do on those boring evenings when we're not out having fun (as I know we all get off work at sensible hours every day.) I'm not thinking of any WEP-cracking script kiddie stuff, simply mapping out networks/frenquencies (and whether or not a network is open.) We'd never catch all of what's around, but it might make an interesting resource, especially for a city like Zurich which had several public access 802.11b networks this summer. Would there be any interest in this sort of a project? If we were to get enough people, I'd be glad to organize things.
