A trip to the local office supply store usually sorts out that pink card/blue card problem plus you have enough for the next 199 fests. :) Driving in some areas of Montgomery County makes me think it is almost wall-to-wall shopping malls. Last November and December I was part of an effort to find store and mall frequencies in the New England area. Stores like Target are deploying standard nationwide frequency plans. Store Employees trying to handle Christmas Shoppers can be interesting communications at times, and exciting when a store employee loses it and breaks under the pressure. http://www.scancapecod.us/wiki/index.php/Mall_and_Shopping_Center_Frequencies_A-H Fest time also means that America's Pastime, March Madness is underway. When I hear the voice of Joe Castiglione, John Sterling, or Harry Kalas on the radio, I think "Oh I need to send in my fest registration and make the hotel reservations right away". I was listening to the Phillies game today on XM while driving home from New Hampshire. They came back and tied the Yankees. I sold out years ago and listen to BBC WS on local FM and XM. I have also listened to Lucy Kellaway commentary on the BBC Website. Good Food and Good Friends are great aspects of the Fest. I get to sample some great local food like Scrapple, Philly Cheese Steak, and Chicken Croquettes. Where else could Fest attendees from the Montreal area get to try Chicken Quebec for the first time. This year I want to try the tahdig at some of the food places on Germantown Pike in Whitemarsh. The Fest is a sign of the last throws of bad winter weather, occurring on the Thursday before the fest, the Sunday after the fest, or both. It is still the Winter SWL Fest so get use to it! Three Cheers for the fest organizers. Hip Hip Hurrah! Hip Hip Hurrah!
