It may interest you to know that by sheer dumb luck we are getting a visit this year from John Kipping, whom was very active in the UK pirate radio scene back in the days of Radio Caroline (late 60's - early 70's) and can speak very intelligently about the pirate scene. If I recall correctly he was part of the Radio Jackie organisation.
So involved with the scene was he that he was successfully prosecuted by the Crown under the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949. I'm pretty sure that he could be press ganged into an adhoc Q&A session on the UK pirate scene at lunchtime on Saturday. John and I recently paid a visit to the MV Ross Revenge (Caroline's last ship) which is now in dock in east London and has periodic RSL activities.
