Well.  Java itself has been out there much longer than PHP, in a sense.
Although PHP was created quit some time ago (8 years I think) it didn't
really catch on until the last year or so...

PHP has been on web servers longer than JSP has.  Are you talking about your
personal knowledge of PHP in relation to other scripting languages?
