2. Is there a version of sword (and a UI) that is known to run on the iPAQ running Linux?
I haven't used an iPAQ, but I am using qpsword on my Zaurus, and there is an iPAQ package as well... see http://www.crosswire.org/qpsword/ . If you are using the micros GUI instead of Qtopia, try http://www.handhelds.org/z/wiki/micros .
