The two acronyms stand for Free-as-in-Speech vs Free-as-in-Beer. FAIS refers
to livery while FAIB refers to price. E-sword is free as in beer not free as
in speech. In order to be called "Free Software" (FAIS) by Richard
Stallman's definition it must be open source and meet a few other
conditions. See http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html
