Wojciech Bartminski,

Thank you for your desire to be upright in this matter. Blessings on your efforts to get permission. My understanding is that the text of the N26U3 is EXACTLY the same as the N27U4, with the possible exception of corrected typos or punctuation. The apparatus update was a big change, but I don't believe you include the apparatus in your module.

CrossWire and Winfred Bader from UBS got off to a pretty bad start about 8 years ago. He sternly requested that we remove our N27U4 module, even though we had produced it from a publicly downloadable CCAT source. He had every right to deny us permission-- being the copyright holder, and allow CCAT to distribute the text, if certain guidelines were followed (I believe a simple form filled out acknowledging scholastic use, or something).

After working with Dr. Bader at OSIS conference over the past 4 years, we've really had the opportunity to earn his respect, I guess, and he's warmed up to us considerably. Unfortunately, as of earlier this year, he is no longer with UBS, but has taken a post at another organization which we don't deal with.

I have no idea who now currently manages the electronic permission for the NA text. I pray your request and CrossWire might find favour in his eyes. Please let him know that our software is available to them to use in whatever capacity they might see fit, and could make their text available on a number of additional platforms, with no burden to them. We'd just like them to offer their text for SWORD. We'd also be happy to convert their authoritative data if they would be willing to provide it to us.

Also, we'd love to fully support the great work being done at:

Thanks again for your sincere heart to serve our Lord,

                -Troy A. Griffitts.

Hi

N27U4 is NOT N26U3!

AFAIK distribution of N26U3 is not illegal - but I've just asked GBS
this question.
If they confirm that it's OK to distribute the module (I expect it - as
we underline that it is only for "educational or private, noncommercial
purpose") - I shall add it to links mentioned on the page
http://biblijna.strona.pl/sword/PL.htm.

Richard,
We once had an unlocked N27U4 module and were specifically
denied by the German Bible Society permission to distribute such. I would strongly discourage illegal distribution of your module and must insist that you discontinue posting links to it on this forum. I don't like
the fact that we don't have this module available, but we need to work
within legal requirements.

Having said this, we DO have a Westcott-Hort Greek text with NU variants marked. Most of our client software will allow you to show the

NU variants only.

Hello everyone.

For those of you who are interested, I have just made a new release of

the Nestle-Aland 26th ed. /United Bible Societies 3rd ed. of the Greek

New Testament text. It is not groundbreaking in any way; it simply fixes the final sigmas in parentheses and changes the underscores '_' to the proper symbol, the hyphen '-'.

You can get the updated module at http://sword.strona.pl/downloads/na26-ubs3.raw.zip
http://sword.strona.pl/downloads/na26-ubs3.zip (this one is with installer for windows) Thanks again to Wojciech Bartminski for hosting

this module.

This is an unofficial module; it is not part of the Sword project itself. This begs the question: Would the Sword Project be willing to have a webpage with links to third party modules like this one? It would be useful for modules which Sword could not distribute, including, hopefully, future commercial ones, as well as modules that are not related to the purpose of Sword (e.g. Herodotus). Just a thought.
