Images are anchored in the pseudo-root of the module itself. So e.g.
the GnomeSword manual, a ThML module, contains things like
<img src="/images/logo.png">
where "images" is actually
/home/karl/.sword/modules/genbook/rawgenbook/gnomesword/images
Bible Atlas Online and Peter's recent Persian Bible Atlas work the
same way.
This is defined by Sword itself, not by the front end.

It's not just genbooks that can have graphical content; any module can.
I built bible.org's map set as a lexdict module.
