For many mobile devices such as cell phones, the line length of text is often limited by the narrow width of the display screen.
This accentuates the problem of hyphenation for long words. i.e. Where to split a word and hyphenate it properly between syllables. One of the projects at bfbs linguistic computing addresses the challenge of hyphenation. See http://lc.bfbs.org.uk/news.php?item.34.2 http://lc.bfbs.org.uk/news.php?item.34.2 Perhaps at some future occasion, it might be a worthwhile idea to explore whether automatic hyphenation might be something that could be incorporated into the SWORD API. It certainly would do no harm, and it might do much good. Others more skilled than I might wish to pursue this suggestion.
