As of September Facebook passed Google as the most used website in the world. And, for the record, 500 million active users comes in at about 1/3 of all Internet users around the globe. Now moving on to other issues from David's post, there is great possibility here, I feel. There is also one major caveat: From what I know of Facebook apps, which is admittedly not terribly much, they are written entirely in PHP.
