Regarding JSword: If the module is ThML the tag should not have to be self closed. If it doesn’t handle it properly because of that, it is a bug.
I’m not sure, but I think the leading / may be a problem. We set the base URI for the module to be the dataPath (appropriately modified) and lookup the image relative to that. Having a leading / indicates to lookup the image according to an absolute path.
