Professor MARIO PERNIOLA (University of Rome), one of Italy's leading 
philosophers of art, culture, media, will be presenting a joint seminar on 
Tuesday, May 20, hosted by the departments of philosophy, cultural studies, and 
media at Macquarie University. 

Professor Perniola's paper will be on "Marshall McLuhan and the Numbing Effect" 
and will be of particular interest to those working in aesthetics, cultural 
studies, media studies, sociology, political theory, and other disciplines.

Venue: Macquarie University, Building W6A, room 107 (downstairs)
