*AAPC 2009: The Australasian Association of Postgraduate Philosophy
Conference *

AAPC will hold its annual conference April 15-17, 2009. This year's
conference is co-hosted by Macquarie University and The ANU and will take
place at Macquarie University, Sydney, NSW.

Submissions for papers are invited in all areas of philosophical interest as
well as other disciplines engaging with philosophy. The 2009 conference
seeks to encourage connection not only between philosophy postgraduates but
also between philosophers and philosophically minded researchers working in
other disciplines. To this end, papers from traditional areas of philosophy
as well as from other disciplines engaging with philosophy are encouraged.
Also, to display philosophy's relevance in public life, this year's
conference will include a public lecture by a prominent philosopher
addressing current social concerns.

There are two options for submission.

1. Single papers: Deliver a complete paper.

2. Work-in-progress: Present work that you are currently in the
process of developing and use the discussion time to receive valuable
feedback.

Those submitting complete papers will be entered into a contest for best
paper to win one of two monetary prizes.

Sessions will consist of 20-25 minute paper presentations followed by 15-20
minutes of discussion. Paper submissions may be between 3,000 and 6,000
words in length. Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words.

Abstracts and papers, formatted for blind review, must be submitted
electronically via our website http://www.phil.mq.edu.au/appc. The deadline
for abstract submission is February 1st 2009. Full papers for competition
consideration are due March 1st 2009. Registration will be open from
