(Federal Member for Lyne) Phil Lambert (University of Sydney /Dept. of Education) Chris Wheeler (Ombudsman's Office) A.J. Brownn (Griffith University) Lorraine Carey (University of Canberra) Peter Slezak (University of NSW) Ray Younis (University of Central Queensland) Philip Quadrio (University of NSW) This conference is an integral part of a two-year research project, funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC), together with the roads & Traffic Authority, NSW (RTA), and the NSW Department of Commerce. The conference is intended to be very much roll-up-your-sleeves-and-participate for the attendees. Presentations and workshops have been designed with that expressly in mind. Our aim is to work towards an understanding of ethical excellence in the public sector. Our approach to achieving this aim is through the use of thoughtful presentations and workshops that focus on issues like: developing a notion of ethical excellence, achieving ethical excellence, identifying and overcoming barriers to ethical excellence and using ethical excellence as a performance measure.
