Speaker
Dr Jon Jackson is a lecturer in research methodology and a member of the
Mannheim centre for criminology at the London School of Economics. He is
currently a visiting fellow in the Sydney Institute for Criminology. His
research is interdisciplinary, crossing over psychology, sociology and
criminology, and focuses on public attitudes towards crime, justice and
punishment.

Abstract
In this paper Jon will: (a) discuss the concept of trust and confidence in the
police; (b) document historical trends in trust and confidence in England and
Wales; and (c) outline the empirical evidence on the factors thought to
influence public confidence.

Cost
