Pragmatic Foundations Project, Centre for Time, University of Sydney EPR2: Expressivism, Pluralism & Representationalism Conference and Winter School :: Sydney, 20-24 July 2009 Speakers at this three-day conference (22-24 July 2009) will include Simon Blackburn (Cambridge), Bob Brandom (Pittsburgh), Stephen Barker (Nottingham), Rachael Briggs (Sydney), Matthew Chrisman (Edinburgh), Paul Horwich (NYU), Henry Jackman (York), Robert Kraut (Ohio State), Michael Lynch (UConn), Mark Schroeder (USC), Michael Williams (Johns Hopkins) and Crispin Wright (NYU/St Andrews). Further details of the conference themes are available here: http://homepage.mac.com/centre.for.time/ conferences/epr2.html The conference will be immediately preceded (20-21 July 2009) by a two-day Pre-Conference Winter School on themes related to the conference. The Winter School is intended especially for graduate students, and will be taught by Patrick Greenough, Huw Price, Kevin Scharp and Lionel Shapiro. It will be a mix of lectures and small-group discussion classes. The lectures will be open to anyone registered for the main conference, but the small group sessions will restricted to students accepted for the Winter School and invited faculty We anticipate having to cap numbers for the conference, and now invite pre-registration from philosophers interested in attending. (If we do have to impose a quota, it will be an advantage to have pre-registered early.) Faculty (including retired faculty) Please pre-register by sending an email to [email protected]<[email protected]?subject=please%20pre-register%20me%20for%20epr2> with the subject line "Please pre-register me for EPR2". We will notify you of a result by the end of May. If we are able to accept your registration, a registration fee of AU$150 will then be required to confirm your place. Graduate students Graduate students who wish to attend the conference must apply for admission to the Pre-Conference Winter School. Students accepted for the Winter School will then be registered automatically for the conference (with a waiver of the conference registration fee). Applications should be submitted by 24 April 2009.
