EPR2: Expressivism, Pluralism & Representationalism

Conference and Winter School

A reminder that this conference will be held in Sydney, 22-24 July
2009. Speakers
will include Simon Blackburn (Cambridge/UNC), Bob Brandom (Pittsburgh),
Stephen Barker (Nottingham), Rachael Briggs (Sydney/Griffith), Matthew
Chrisman (Edinburgh), Paul Horwich (NYU), Henry Jackman (York), Robert Kraut
(Ohio State), Michael Lynch (UConn), Mark Schroeder (USC), Michael Williams
(Johns Hopkins) and Crispin Wright (NYU/St Andrews/Aberdeen).

A provisional timetable with titles is now available here:

The conference will be immediately preceded (20-21 July 2009) by a
two-day Pre-Conference
Winter School on themes related to the conference. The Winter School
is intended especially for graduate students, and will be taught by Patrick
Greenough, Huw Price, Kevin Scharp and Lionel Shapiro. It will be a mix of
lectures and small-group discussion classes. The lectures will be open to
anyone registered for the main conference, but the small group sessions will
restricted to students accepted for the Winter School and invited faculty.

We anticipate having to cap numbers for the conference, and invite
pre-registration from philosophers interested in attending.

Faculty (including retired faculty)
Please pre-register by sending an email to
[email protected]<[email protected]?subject=please%20pre-register%20me%20for%20epr2>
with
the subject line "Please pre-register me for EPR2". Unless we're already
over-quota, we'll accept your registration, and send you instructions on how
to pay a registration fee of AU$150 to confirm your place. (People already
pre-registered at 6 June will receive these instructions soon.)

Graduate students
Graduate students who wish to attend the conference should apply
for admission to the Pre-Conference Winter School, on which a few places are
still available. Students accepted for the Winter School will then be
registered automatically for the conference (with a waiver of the conference
registration fee). Details of the application procedure may be found here:
