THE SYDNEY PHILOSOPHY FORUM (SPF) is a new initiative, intended to
broaden interest in philosophical subjects, particularly for those
who work in Sydney's CBD.
It is being held on the 4th Friday of each month at the Union,
University & Schools Club (UUSC),
25 Bent Street, Sydney, where people of varying professional and
business backgrounds traditionally gather.
In this, its inaugural year, professional philosophers from the
University of Sydney, UNSW, Macquarie and New England will address
the Forum about the philosophical subjects that really matter today.
Topics such as the Morality of Weapons Research; Plato's Analogy
Between Art and Law; The Nature of Evil; will be discussed (see our
website for full program).*
The SPF's 2010 program will present nine lunchtime talks (on the 4th
Friday of each month), starting on Friday, March 26. The events
will commence with drinks, followed by a two-course meal, including
wine and coffee. Cost $60.
We hope that many of you will become regular patrons at these
special luncheon conversaziones.
