Pamela Hieronymi (UCLA), Frank Jackson (La Trobe/Princeton), Karen Jones 
(Melbourne), Peter Menzies (Macquarie), Tito Magri (Sapienza, Rome), Philip 
Pettit (Princeton), Nishi Shah (Amherst), Julia Tanney (Kent) and Stephen White 
(Tufts) will be speaking at the workshop.

The workshop is sponsored by an Australian Research Council Grant held by 
Professors David Braddon-Mitchell and Frank Jackson. The workshop is organised 
by David Braddon-Mitchell & Robert Dunn in association with the Sydney 
University School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry.

Issues under review at the Belief-Desire workshop include the following: 
reasons and causes, dispositions, explanations of action and the ‘Standard 
View’, the role of intentions, practical reason and normativity, reasons and 
Humean moral psychology, internal and external reasons, epistemology and the 
theory of action.
