PhiloAgora has a new venue! It will resume its talks next Tuesday, 6
July at the Last Drop Cafe, 538 Marrickville Road, Dulwich Hill,
,just down from Canterbury Road
Philo Agora's talk next Tuesday July 6, will be Peter Bowden: Was
Julia ethical?
This is a lighthearted, but serious extract from a paper that
Peter will have presented the day before at the Australasian
Association of Philosophy conference at the University of NSW. in
this talk, he examines the actions of Julia Gillard from the ethical
viewpoints of Plato, Aristotle, John Stuart Mill, Immanuel Kant and a
number of other moral philosophers. He will attempt to balance the
pragmatic and the empirical against the dialectic of philosophical discourse.
Peter Bowden is one of the founding members of Philo Agora. He
teaches ethics at Sydney University
