Graham Hoskin : Islam: Theology, Science, History and Causality

Islam's view of causality has changed throughout history. Nowadays
there's the view that action is determined by God and there is no such
thing as causality in the world.
This was not always the case; there have been alternative views in the
past, with associated theological conflicts. Islamic cultures have also
in the past been inovators in mathematics, astronomy and medicine; it's
interesting to consider the relationship between these innovations and
the theological history of Islam.
About the Speaker

Graham Hoskin has completed postgraduate Middle Eastern
Studies and has travelled to the middle east many times. He has a
Bachelor of Theology and a long interest in Muslim / Christian
relations.
