This coming current projects will be Jennifer Hendry (leeds) who will be talking to us about:
Negotiating Boundaries: A Legally Pluralist Perspective on Sub-Altern Conceptions of Ownership This presentation will discuss the possibility of negotiating new boundaries between public notions of goods and private notions of rights, specifically in terms of sub-altern or counter-hegemonic conceptions of ownership. I will argue that legally pluralist approach can be used as both a lens and a frame through which to view alternative ideas of ownership. This approach includes a number of challenges to the dominant liberal statist paradigm, most notably in terms of spatial and normative considerations, and also disputes the relevance of some established dichotomies, such as public and private, common and individual. 1.00-2.30, room 422 in the main quad.
