The next meeting of the Workgroup on Recognition in Sydney is on Saturday this week, November 16, 11am-2pm at the Duck Inn Pub (74 Rose St, Chippendale).
We will continue on the theme of social pathology, 'pathology', and 'life', discussing Michael Thompson's 'The Representation of Life' (the first chapter of his book Life and Action, see review at: http://ndpr.nd.edu/news/23931-life-and-action-elementary-structures-of-practice-and-practical-thought/) Anyone interested in theories of recognition, or in critical social philosophy in general (both students and staff) are warmly welcome. If you know anyone else who might be interested, feel free to pass on the information. Looking forward to seeing you there, Heikki Ikaheimo (UNSW) and Jean-Philippe Deranty (Macquarie University) Heikki Ikäheimo Senior lecturer, Australian Research Fellow School of Humanities and Languages/Philosophy University of New South Wales Sydney, NSW 2052 Australia Email: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Tel. 04-23131713 http://unsw.academia.edu/HeikkiIkaheimo/Papers
