The Workgroup on Recognition in Sydney meets on Saturday this week, October 11,
11am-2pm at the Duck Inn Pub (74 Rose St, Chippendale).

We will continue on the theme of 'social pathology', 'pathology', and 'life',
moving towards debates in biopolitics. This week we will discuss Michel
Foucault's text 'The Society must be Defended', and pp. 135-145 from his
History of Sexuality, Volume 1 (Penguin 1990).

Anyone interested in theories of recognition, in critical social philosophy
more generally, or in biopolitics more in particular (both students and staff)
are warmly welcome. If you know anyone else who might be interested, feel free
to pass on the information. If you have difficulty in getting hold of the
texts, let me know and I'll forward them to you by email.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
