Matthias, maybe I´m not gettin the point, but this hopefully does not work.
Do you want to use the link only on your localhost? Or do you want
to access a file on a client machine?

- No JS has no access to the file system at all. Consider what "bad guys"
could do with this.
- JS can only change data with Browser plugins, especially Flash.
