I don't think there is a rush at all (the 1.2 release date was a
little optimistic).

On the other side, if symfony takes on the challenge for date driven
releases (instead of agile), it should stick to it. If there is a
delay, it should be properly communicated (by the release manager)
without having people to ask for an explanation (this post/blog post/
irc).

Alot of business/project decisions are based on the roadmap/milestones
deadlines. I was involved in the decision which version to use for a
major symfony project. Based on the communication for the 1.2 release
(http://www.symfony-project.org/blog/2008/07/01/symfony-1-2-roadmap),
we decided to wait for the new admin generator.

If symfony wants to convince decision makers, it needs to stick to
it's promises, or properly communicate.
