I like this change too - but it also killed me temporarily. The upgrade script is very vague as to watch changes need to be made to those yaml files. Also, the initial effect was that, after an update, a working project of mine went crazy: cache was on when it should've been off, security went crazy.
So, I like the consistency that this change brings, but I'm worried about the problems it'll cause in its current state.
