The Yii framework has in my opinion a good approach. They have a default generator bundle called Gii. Gii is a webbased generator. The standard generators can be modified and you can also simply create your own generators. A webpage is ideal because typo's e.t.c. can be modified instantly on the page. And when you forget to create a bundle you just open another window. The inputforms can be checked with the validator tool. It's very generic and user (developer) friendly
