so now we have a release process.

but as i stated before, imho we should also have some "release management".
specifically i think we should for every release elect a "release manager". 
this persons role will be ensuring that we dont end up with a ton of features 
that need to be rolled back at the end of the development phase because they 
are not stable enough to be released. furthermore that person should facilitate 
the creation of a "tentative list of big features" for the next release. this 
can help focus energy in the community and also give users a tentative idea of 
what to expect. the key word here is tentative. finally that person is also 
responsible to ensure that the release process itself (with its time frames) is 
actually followed.
